If you are a thrill seeker or would just like to try something new you may get a kick out of parasailing. A parasail is basically a parachute designed to tow behind a specially equipped powerboat. You are attached to the parachute by a harness, which in turn is connected to the towline. The activity has evolved to the point where you just stand on the rear deck of the boat and as the boat accelerates you lift off into the air. The crew slowly reels out the towline as the parachute rises.
Typically you will reach a height of around 150 to 200 feet before being lowered to the lakes surface, and possibly dipped slightly, then towed back to altitude to cruise and sightsee for a while. The average ride is around 15 minutes. The views, of course are fantastic so dont forget your camera. The thrill of flying through the air is quite an experience. At the end of the flight the crew just reels you back in and you land safely on the deck of the boat.
